Sunday Morning Skate

Met friends @ Columbus Circle @ 11:00, skated manhattan - south to battery park- turned to east, pier 17, China Town (where we had a lunch), then Little Italy, then, north on Park Ave. via 42nd Street tunnel, then back to Central Park @ about 15:00.

Great weather, great people. what a fun day !

Almost Spring

Suddenly spring is here -- kinda weather.

Went Central Park where I met a lot of skaters.

Practice

Skated a little bit in Central Park in the evening.

Unlike usual, I did not do "loop", instead, did practice at the bandsehll.
Came home via 72nd Pier while watching sunset - kinda romantic.

Chelsea Piers

Skated West side Highway in the early evening.
It was a bit breezy, but light air with low humidity felt great.

Chelsea Piers was covered by crystal salt. They must've expected a lot of snow accumulation yesterday.

Skating with Friends

Went for a morning skate with R, D, L, P & me.
Skated through regular avenue (B'way, 5th etc) to Canal Street via Greenwitch Village. Came back via West Side High Way.

Went Central Park in the late afternoon. Met some friends when I was skating on the "Lower Loop". Joined them and skated some more at the bandshell. Stopped by that friend's house to pickup a pair of sun glasses I left before in her friend's car.

What a good day with a great weather, great encouters.

First Skating in the Park after LASIK

First outside skate since LASIK surgery on Feb. 12, 2004.

Everything I see is so clear, it is great. World is different !!

Weather is nice, distance skated is good, total satisfuction !

The ROXY

Went the Roxy. This time two of my colleagues joined us as well. One said that she used to be a quad skater but has not skated for years, and another is almost never skated.

In the beginning, it was not as croweded as usual, that was good for two colleagus. They left at around 22:00 and I stayed somemore and left at around 23:30. All of us had a good time, I guess.

Addicted to Skate

Went to the ROXY two days after coming back from Miami, Fl where I sklated over 60 miles for three days.

It was not only me who is so much enthusiastic for skating - met another skater who went to Florida.

It is nice in NYC

Came back from Miami in the afternoon.
Noticed it is quite nice & warm as NYC - no reason not to skate.

Went to West Side High Way (Hudson River Park).
Skated a bit, but the road was too wet - seemed to be accmulated icy snow on the edge of sidewalk is melting.
Gave up after few kilometers.

Great EsSkate : the 3rd Day

Gathered at "Community Center" @ 09:15 and joined the "What a View" run.
It was chilly this morning, so I wore long sleeve sweat shirt first but soon I took it off.
Nice Sea view course (14 miles) was really enjoyable.

Great EsSkate : the 2nd Day

Gathered at "Community Center" @ 09:30 and joined the group skate. Today's course is 24 miles. On the way to meeting point and way back, alltogether about 27 miles - it is a marathon length.

We skated 24 miles in about 2 hrs 30 min including 3 water stops.
I never skated so much at once before, but was fine. I could skate more.

Got sun burn - I should've put some sun block !!
I didn't, because it was kinda cloudy...

Great EsSkate in Miami, Florida


Came down to Miami Beach, Florida in order to join the big skating event , "Great EsSkate 2004".
There are more than 300 skaters came from all over the country.

Miami Beach was "summer" even it is winter.

After checking in and registration, joined night skate of 13.7 miles.
Nice cool breeze was so comfortable with summer skating outfit.

After the skating, a party including supper was given by the event to the participant.
